It is up to your student's teacher as to where you will code. In the past, Replit, an internet browser IDE, has been the most common IDE used since it only requires an internet connection. During the first class, teachers will walk students through how to set up Replit.

However, students are welcome to use their own IDEs if they feel comfortable with them. IDEs such as Eclipse and Textpad are quite common and can be downloaded as apps on most laptops and PCs. 

Classes are held once a week on weekends(Saturday & Sunday) at 10 am or 11 am EST. They are 90 minutes long with a 10-minute break splitting lecture and classwork time.

Yes, most classes will have homework assigned to students which will likely be a review of the topics learned in that class. Towards the end of the session, the students will be assigned a project and their homework will be to work on that. 

At YCF, we pride ourselves on maintaining an efficient and helpful learning environment. Thats it why we focus on keeping our student:teacher ratio to be under 5:1. This way, your child feels comfortable with our teachers and sees them to be more than just a mentor but also a friend and role models, ensuring the best possible learning environment. 

Classes are held online on either Zoom or Google Meet. Your teachers will provide you with the link via email before the first class. Please make sure you join the meeting 5 minutes early to allow teachers to have enough time to cover all topics intended.

Students or Parents can fill out this form. 

After filling out this form our team will place your child in their preferred class. You will get an email from your teacher the week before classes begin. If a class you want to be taught is not shown but you know we offer it, it is because we have reached maximum capacity for that class. 

Assuming that there is still space in the class you would like to switch to then yes. Just email us at youthcodefoundation@gmail.com and tell us your child's name, the current class they are in, and the class you would like to switch them to. We will get back to you shortly and if we can, then switch your child to the class you want.
